Soft Rain

Hey y’all! It’s been a while! Have been making some important life choices and traveling back home the past couple months. Here’s a poem I wrote on the way about time, connection, and relationships. 🙂

7:00pm, raindrops fall onto the window
So mellow, so dreamy
Yet when it touches my skin
I feel the subtle prickling of it

7:20, I should’ve been home
But I’m here
Wandering through the city lights
Through the soft rain that lands on a stranger’s foot
And before it becomes snow, it melts
Just like that, just like that

7:25 Hi; 7:30 Bye
How fragile is human connection?
I’d rather be a raindrop
At least I don’t question my sole existence
on this planet of hate and war

7:40, I hope this raindrop freezes
And crystallizes into a snowflake
Until an asteroid hits the ground
Until the universe collapses
and buries it as if not a single predator would prey on it

7:50, the soft rain slowly crescents into a cloudburst
So vigorous that my memories are flooded
And my whole body is drown into the sea of emptiness
My soul is left floating near the shore
Swimming
Struggling

Okay, bye
